I wouldn't want to be surrounded by reminders of things I should have done, or chances I didn't take, or experiences I failed to savor. I would want to spend my last conscious moments dying the same way I lived.
Side question: is it really about "where" or "with whom"? Does anyone truly want to die by themselves?
