Doses of civilization
One of the interesting parts of the journey are the brushes with civilization along the Way. Besides ending up in a city, town or hotel every night, during the day we would run into bits of civilization, entering and leaving patches of existence, very different from my normal multi-day hikes escaping into the wilderness. Rather than an all-or-nothing choice between wilderness or the city, the Way brings a very real and manageable blend of experiences and life.
