Are you participating in or defining yourself, your marketplace, your industry?

Are you defining your own happiness?

“The curse of humanity is that people feel compelled to look over their shoulders,” says Oswald. “Happiness and self-esteem depend on rank and relative income. We are consumed by relativism. We can’t help but form comparison groups in our minds.” (from How To Lead a Rich Life via Bill Taylor)

Ruminating on happiness is not a new pursuit: literature abounds with thoughts about happiness, and it’s become a heavily researched topic. But, there are still a lot more searches for “money” than “happiness”.

What are you doing to search for happiness?

Random: What will the web look like when we have 20, 50, 100 years of content?

Less murky: What I did this past weekend: BarCampDC2.

I've stopped searching for happiness. Now I'm always happy.

I like this quote: "Happiness is not in things, it's in us."
  • I saw this today: "Happiness is a journey, not a destination."

Quotes like this are all over the place: why do we forget so often?

Similar to the quote I had on blissfultravel.wordpress.com "Happiness is a way of travel, not a destination."

I think many people forget because it's much easier to believe a state of happiness depends on one's career, wealth, look etc. rather than taking responsibility for being happy everyday - regardless of outer circumstances.
