Expanse, South Dakota
Expanse | South Dakota, USA | Jun 2007

I recently spent some time returning to the back catalog of images from my Long Way Home road trip across the US and Canada in the summer of 2007. Figured I needed to finish with the photos from the last cross-country drive before I start a new one.

I’ll be posting some more pictures from the trip on the site for the next week or so; in addition, I’ve also created a free PDF on Slideshare (available to download) with many more images. Have fun!

  • your empty spaces hold up a mirror and help me to see myself.
  • Very nice work Taylor. The photos of the gas station in Nevada and the beach in Oregon are beautiful.
I love when you add some people in your shot. It really gives life and power.
I think you have some talent to capture these moments people can't see. It's pretty clear when you catch "human beings" (the smile of the guy in the outisde mirror is a perfect example of this magical moment)
  • It's a common refrain that I need to take more pictures of people, but one I haven't been able to address properly.

I see life in emptiness, whereas most people just see the void :)
