1
I'd say that depends on where we write. If it's for a certain publication we obviously need to pay attention to the readers, but when it comes to blogging just writing anything at all is what matters the most. If our readers like it, great. If not, no problem :)

1
Yes, it's their decision, but if we don't pay attention to what our listeners or reader want to read, or how to read, then we're doing a disservice to ourselves, right? Then we're just writing or creating for ourselves, right?

Which, oddly, is what I believe in :)

4 & 5
I try to delete old profiles, old sites, but there are a lot out there. I worry / think more about how much of my thoughts, opinions, statements I've created online, and wonder how many will come back to me later once we figure out better ways to structure and organize data. My only hope is that everyone will undergo the same issue and that we will all just accept that as a new standard.

Maybe once everyone is burned then we'll have a different standard for being public and making mistakes.

7
Same... but I've come to accept it's a part of me, and real in its own way.

Rambling isn't, and never will be, dead.

1
Some people (at times, myself included) have short attention spans, and it's up to us to make everything to hold their attention for as long as possible. But in the end it's their decision how much they want to read, or listen. No matter what effect our ramblings have on others, it's still fun. Why else would so many people write in their journals, words only meant for themselves?

4
“Do you ever think about the digital weight that you’re creating? Do you ever feel like you’re creating a past that you won’t be able to escape?” All the time. But then again, why would I want to escape it? When it comes to profiles, I detach myself from the ones that don't give me anything in return. And I don't like to have half-written social profiles scattered around the web, so I want to delete the ones I'm not regularly using.

5
"It's difficult to disappear, resurface and remake ourselves." Sometimes I wish I could delete written words, or unsend messages, because what I thought then is not what I think now. And I want to 'delete' that part of myself. If that makes any sense.

7
It's interesting with online and offline lives. Until recently I've always viewed offline as my real life, and my online life as something else when in fact they are overlapping.

9
To see someone's face when they're reading something I've written. I've never thought about that before. Would be really fun.

10
One of my flaws have often been that I talk, and write, before I think. I've realized how important it is to think about the when, why and how to make sure you get the right meaning across and don't say anything you wish you could take back.

I like 8 and 9. I struggle with social media, yet I'm liking the pieces I read, the people I 'meet' and the conversations I have. I'm not that old yet I feel oddly unconnected, or unwilling, I'm not sure which. Digital weight is an interesting thought.

Well, simply for mentioning it, you get the postcard!

"The crowd" is pretty powerful; we can't control what they think or do, but it's up to you (us, companies) to help give the crowd the right information to make the right decisions for themselves.

Ironically, I read right past the Easter egg when this was posted a few days ago.

I completely agree with number 6. I experienced what happens when you don't communicate with people about the services you provide. They make and spread what you might consider absurd assumptions. Others take these misconceptions and construe them into their own interpretation. Soon you've got a potential customer base that's taught themselves to like or dislike your services based on information from "the crowd".

You have to engage, or your crowd will improvise with their own assumptions.
